City Haul, A Novel

An outlaw biker, a sexy state legislator, and a pot-smoking local judge–a plateful of predicaments faces attorney Matt Archer. And that doesn’t count repairing his shattered marriage, while still being the kind of dad he wants to be for his precocious ten-year-old daughter.

“Sex, drugs, and violence, and you want my help?" asked Mick the cop.

“Richard Little clearly understands and loves the legislative process. But it is the story and relationships that make you not want to put the book down.  Seasoned political pro or not, it is a good read. And even the pros will get some legislative twists that will keep them on their toes!”

-Majken Ryherd, Former Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Washington State House of Representatives

Seven Days Seventeen Syllables, Haiku

The week's worth of haiku herein is about missing some otherwise everyday objects and events ... "shortages." Each day felt wistful and empty, and brought into (often silly) relief by the absence of familiar objects and activities and people. Comfort food for the soul, as it were.

If there is a New Normal on its way after this pandemic, will it replace what we've missed? If there's one certainty about Covid-19, it's that there is no certainty.

Jakey’s Fork ~ A River’s Journey

Richard Little's latest collection of stories from the road begins high in the Rockies. Rivers, blue traceries on a map, are pathways of history. What are their legacies? Hang out with Butch Cassidy, Sitting Bull, Teddy Roosevelt, and others to find out ... and consider legacies we might leave to others.

“Buckle your seatbelt, sit back, and enjoy Richard Little’s delightful travelogue following the course of a small creek called Jakey’s Fork. Fortunately for his readers, Little accomplishes his hope that, on this journey through the American West, he’d ‘find the sense of place, not just the place’. And we do, too, through his careful research, skillful storytelling, descriptions of geography, historical and cultural overviews, and a dash of humor. I might not ever get to Jakey’s Fork, but now I feel as though I’ve been there.”

-Iris Graville, author, Hiking Naked: A Quaker Woman’s Search for Balance.

Postcards from the Road

Seven thousand miles and twenty-three states by car. Richard Little combines his love of history and travel in these stories of a road trip he and his wife Cherie took across America - with passengers as diverse as Woody Guthrie, Ogden Nash, and Huckleberry Finn. “America is a vast, diverse place. What would we find on roads less traveled?”

“Fans of Steinbeck and Travels with Charley are going to fall in love with Richard Little’s journey across the United States. The perfect recipe for both an armchair traveler and someone who is dreaming about just such a journey.”

~ Harriet Arkley, author, The Good News Chair: A simple tool for shaping a child’s positive behavior and self-image.
